DIY: Face Masks

Tired of breaking your bank on expensive facial products and spa trips? Try making homemade versions of your favorite treatments. The secret behind these masks is in your very own kitchen! Here are three easy masks you can whip up:

Banana Mask

Bananas are not only a healthy snack, but a perfect ingredient to make face mask out of. Bananas are loaded with essential nutrients that help combat aging, dark spots, and dry skin.

1 banana
2 tablespoons of honey

Mash the banana in a bowl and add mix in honey. To get the best consistency, blend ingredients together in a blender. Gently apply the mixture to your face and let it sit. Remove the mask after 15 minutes with a cold wash cloth.

Strawberry Mask

stawberry mask

Strawberries are packed with Vitamin C and other nutrients. These nutrients make strawberries a great ingredient for a mask. Stop buying expensive products with harsh chemicals from the store that claim to gently exfoliate the skin and start making this mask instead.

1/4 cup of fresh strawberries
1/4 cup of plain yogurt

Cut up the strawberries into thin slices. Place yogurt and the strawberries in blender and mix until a smooth paste is formed. Apply the mask on face and let it sit for 10 minutes. Remove mask with cool water.

Cinnamon and Nutmeg Mask

This mask is by far the easiest and most effective mask you should start adding to your weekly routine to cleanse those pesky pores. The cinnamon acts as a natural exfoliant and will help dry out blackheads. The nutmeg will work as anti-inflammatory and help reduce any swelling or redness breakouts can create.

1 or 2 tablespoons of honey
1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

Combine all three ingredients into a bowl. Mix or whisk the ingredients together. Apply the paste on face and let in sit for 20-35 minutes. Remove with cold water.
